Black Panther: World of Wakanda by Yona Harvey, Afua Richardson, Rembert Browne, Joe Bennett, Roxane Gay, Alitha Martinez, Ta-Nehisi Coates
2.0
To be clear, this title even being published is an important thing. Hugely important.
The execution? Lacking. And seriously. Stilted dialogue, chaotic pacing, and generally a thorough lack of empathy when reading it. There is simply no time to forge a connection or to urge the inevitable to happen. Fairly one-dimensional and no patience in conveying the narrative whatsoever.
For a finite/limited series, there was just too much crammed in for it to stick.
Publisher pressure may have had an impact - evidenced in the series' cancellation and remarks about readership and the reception of newfound diversity in Marvel titles at the time.
