Normal People by Sally Rooney

5.0

i am fully supportive of the hype for this book. there were so many moments while reading that i literally had to put the book down and stare into space for a moment. just to take it in.

there's something about two people who are so perfectly created for each other, meant to be together, but life gets in the way. this is just a story of normal people. there is nothing particularly astounding about either connell or marianne, other than the way they make each other feel. the way rooney describes their thought processes is so mundane yet perfect, capturing reality so wonderfully.

i love the chronology of this story, jumping forwards in time with every chapter, demonstrating the constantly changing nature of life in your early twenties. things evolve and change so quickly.

this book has come at the perfect time for me
