SpoilerOh, where do I even start with this one? It is an insult to compare this to And Then There Were None even though that novel is central to the premise of this story. My problem is that it has none of the mystery, allure or quality of the original. The characters were flat out unlikeable and their deaths were unsatisfactory. It did not feel like the end was justified. The author's constant use of "the clock tock, tock, tocked" made me want to bonk, bonk, bonk myself in the head for voluntarily wanting to see the story through to the end. That sh+t added nothing to the atmosphere.
In spite of all that mess, the worst part was the romance between two basic AF characters - Callie and Mason. Because, OF COURSE his wife and child have died. OF COURSE he's moved to the place where he immediately zings with a woman who not only has a son who would have been the same age as his dead child would have been, but her husband is CONVENIENTLY in a vegetative state; just a matter of time before he bites the dust so these two can couple up. The author ended their story with them carrying on as friends but I would bet my bottom dollar that she WILL cheat on her husband soon. Anyway, that part is my personal interjection.
The reveal of the killer itself was extremely predictable. It was literally given away at the 60% mark. After that, it was all downhill and a colossal waste of my time and I definitely would not recommend, especially the Audible version where I had to endure the author pronouncing "again" as "AGAYN". Eugh.
