An amazing addition to the British Crime Classics collection!

A very enjoyable read with all the trademark charm of original Golden Age detective fiction even though it was published in the 1960s.

I was mystified throughout with the case of the mysteriously-returned-previously-thought-dead heir to Belting, the central Victorian Gothic family home.

Symons has written as if it were Christopher, our narrator and one of the Belting inhabitants, who has published an account of the events that took place right before he planned to start university. This clever narration style adds to the overall immersion and enjoyment.
