For what appears to be the author's debut novel, it's a decent first try. The premise is interesting, but the overall writing style isn't as "tight" as you would expect from a more experienced/better author. If you like a fun page turner, then this is worth a read. If you're expecting beautiful prose and tight story-telling, this will probably leave you wanting.

All that said, I will certainly pick up the second book when released as I have every expectation the author will continue to improve.
