A Pirate of Her Own by Kinley MacGregor

5.0

God what a romantic story!

Honestly, while I love any and all Sherri novels, some are stronger than others in the emotional story. A Pirate of Her Own contains the story of Morgan Drake and Serenity James, with the subplot that forces the two together being one surrounded by Serenity's published article about The Sea Wolf- who is Morgan and his activities around freeing impressed Americans from the British.

Angered over being outed, and fearing for her safety at the hands on his enemies, Morgan's friend Jake abducts Serenity and places her on Morgan's ship. Stuck with him on his voyage to Santa Maria, the two's "falling-in-love" story is so entertaining. Serenity is headstrong and stubborn, a woman uncommon in her own time and a romantic dreamer to boot. Morgan is a man of the world, having a dramatic emotional past, and is as stubborn as Serenity.

While the actual subplot is practically nonexistent, being bypassed quickly in the plot, the emotional story between Morgan and Serenity is so heartwarming, with tons of laughs and endearing character scenes. Typical though it is, Sherri's outdone herself once again!

Another 5-stars!!!
