The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry

4.0

In a sense it is a love story, she loves someone, but she loves herself and freedom the most.
I should have finished this book last November, as it also finishes in a November, with decadent autumnal feels. I knew what to expect, like I wanted to read it after watching the show, I enjoyed the show, but the book is 5 times better.
The letters were my favourite detail, secondly the months. “Solitude suits me […] I love you and I am content without you. Even so, come quickly!” Cora wrote at the end, and I felt so identified.
