The ending to this book is fantastic. But the rest of the book felt progressively slower and more bloated as I kept turning the page. It felt like we were following Fitz around while he completes his more than often mundane tasks for Buckkeep. And I became more annoyed with the romance between him and Molly.
However, there were several stretches that I did enjoy, particularly with Verity and Fitz early on in the book. Learning more about the Fool was also nice, and he had some great moments.
I did enjoy this book at the end of the day. I simply hope book 3 speeds up the pace and feels more engaging with the plot and direction we're headed with the characters.
