Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

To be honest, I preferred the first book over this one. The one thing that REALLY saved it was the ending. The last 50 pages were really interesting and super awesome, I got goosebumps as I read the last few lines.
Everything prior to that was....almost pointless I would say (without trying to be disrespectful). They could have literally cut out everything from pages 100-300 and I wouldn't have been confused as to what was going on. They were on a journey to find something, and along the way they just stumbled upon different people while being chased by others, which is essentially the premise for Hollow City.

The ONE thing that might have bothered me the most, is how many peculiar people they kept running into. I mean howww?? Every single time the group would run into anyone (or another group of people), they would be peculiars. Every. Single. Time.
I just thought it was difficult to find them, so maybe I just kind of shook my head at how often they popped up. It's something small and I'm sure no one else noticed this while reading, but I'm too nit-picky not to notice :P it would have been nice to have one un-peculiar person join them for a bit or try to help in some way.

Despite being overly picky, I am reading the last book. Ransom is writing a 4th for October 2018 but I don't think I'll read it. I feel the third is the possible technical ending, so I might be okay to finish it there. If someday it hits me that I really want to read the 4th, then I might consider it in the future. Here is to hoping I like the third one a lot :D
