I waited too long after the first book to read this one. It took me a while to remember what had happened previously, who was who, and what was what.
But once I put two and two together, I found the continuation to be smooth and satisfactory.
The cast has great banter, and friendship. Even when they meet new characters, the group is welcoming and intelligently politically strategic.
