Part family drama, part late-blooming coming of age, part sci fi, this book has a lot to offer! The relationship between Alice and her dad is so tender, and the way she goes repeatedly back to revisit their best time together is deeply moving. I liked that even though the central premise of this book is sci fi in nature, Straub kept it light and mysterious, even poking fun with the metafiction of Alice's dad and all his sci fi author friends debating the most plausible time travel concepts in their comic con hotel room. Kind of like a reverse 13 Going On 30 with no mean girls trying to ruin your life. Overall, I enjoyed this book but felt like it had some unexplored potential, which I guess you could argue is intentional and matches the premise perfectly. You'll like it!
