Rapture by Lauren Kate

I just had to know if it could get any more ridiculous. And boy does it ever! Granted Satan doesn't appear as a talking gargoyle sidekick in this book but I did learn that diet coke heals angels. Who knew?!

Fans of this book praise the twist at the end. Twisted is more like it. I don't claim to have any interest or knowledge in religion, it's history or it's theories but even I found the liberties taken with this story ridiculous.

As a hopeless romantic who gets butterflies in my stomach over Kay Jewelers commercials, I was severely disappointed in this love story. It actually might rate as one of the single most dull and unconvincing love stories in literature. You can say "I love you, I have loved you forever, since the beginning of time, we were meant for each other" etc. etc. so many times, but if I don't feel it...then I don't feel it. And trust me all I felt was nausea.
