Lord Valentine's Castle by Robert Silverberg

3.0

It was a bit more conventional than I expected after reading [b:Dying Inside|968902|Dying Inside|Robert Silverberg|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1179887709s/968902.jpg|1660120] but a nice, somewhat conventional, fantasy tale. It did touch on some interesting topics like colonialism, apathetic citizens, etc. but not in a very in-depth way. I was hoping for something more in line with other fantasy of the era (Zelazny, Le Guin, Delaney, etc.). I still enjoyed it enough to continue to the next book, however.
