I saved reading this book for so long. I finally let myself dive in and I was not disappointed!
I liked the diversity of characters and multiple perspectives we get to see from each society. The complexity of the kingdom is not glossed over. Each character has their own way of dealing with the problems of their society, adding to their depth of character.
There were many twists and turns I was not expecting. I had no idea where the magic system was going in this story and I loved that!
The struggles in this book are very dark, and at some points the feeling of hopelessness was overwhelming. Nothing came easy for our MC and it shows how determined she is to make things better for the people she cares about.
I am excited to see how things unfold in the next book.
