Hunting November by Adriana Mather

4.0

Overall great read again, this series was so much fun.

Some flaws:

1. November is so emotional and trusting and those emotions infringe on her safety on SO MANY times (I literally screamed "STOP BEING STUPID AUGHHHHH" many times inside my head). They also save her countless times. It's annoying, but I think it's also something the author intentionally did (like how kindness and goodness will ultimately win even in a world full of deception and wtvr) lol. Examples: how she went to see Emily, how she wanted to see her Aunt so bad just bc of family, etc.

2. I like how November only really mainly cares about finding her father, but whenever it's convenient she gets ppl's help by saying that she will dispose of Jag. However, she never really explains how finding her dad helps disrupt the current power dynamics. I like how Aarya points this out as well, and November also notices that it's an issue. But also November is being honest and not unbelievable in caring about her father over everything else, so that's alright.

3. Ash is too simp/in love with her. Maybe (likely.) this is a me problem because I'm uncertain if the fact that he's so into her that he's willing to put his future on hold and that he would rather spend the rest of his life with her than with a destiny he grew up with is a LEGITIMATE act of love that two teenagers SHOULD aspire towards or if it's just meant to provide a happy romantic ending to November's story. Anyways moral of the story is idk if this is the ideal standard and most men are not up to par or if this is illogical simp behavior. I still think it is the latter tho bc if the gender roles were reversed I would not have liked it either.

4. Ines is also so compassionate and always on November's side fsr. Unbelievable and unrealistic imo.

Some things I loved:

1. The found family and friend group-esque feel. Love.

2. Ash. That man is the golden boyfriend standard. Or not. Like he's a GREAT MAN, but he's not the type of problematically attractive that has me screaming like Cardan
