I'm so glad I kept going with this book. The pacing seemed a little gentle at first, but it was easy to keep with it. I listened to the audiobook while driving to and from work for a couple weeks and this story was a good companion.
The main character is realistic, she's emotional and driven, and her flaws are not hidden. The story weaves family expectations, cultural changes, relationships that go awry, and a woman with intense ambition and stubbornness.
