This books is one of my favorites. It's almost like a pallet cleanser because it's easier to read but the subject matter is still heavy enough to have sustenance.  Laurie Halse Anderson is a wonderful writer and is able to cover difficult topics without being incredibly triggering but still going into great detail. I've read this book at least three times and will definitely be reading it again.  It has a nice pace, slow enough to reflect on what you're reason as you read it, but fast enough to not get bored of it.  All of the teenagers are written very well and it feels like i could bump into them at school.  I only took half a star off because at some parts things move very very slow.  Even though it's a shorter read it takes me a few days to finish because of the pacing.  Overall wonderful book and I will always recommend it to friends!
