Waltz With Bashir: A Lebanon War Story by Ari Folman

4.0

This was originally an animated documentary, so the artwork in this graphic novel is distinct and magnificent. The story follows a former Israeli soldier as he tries to piece together where he was during a horrific Christian massacre of Palestinian refugees during the Lebanon War in 1982. I wasn't a huge fan of the amnesiac angle of the novel – not to mention that it's fairly short – but the artwork was incredibly moving.
