i am a hater, and a proud one. are the straights okay like i have been seeing this book on bookstagram so many times talking about the main couple being the goals or "it" couple and the book being one of the best romances like what ?? first of all i didn't liked any of the characters they are so bland and bad people and don't get me started on the teacher wtf was that it was straight up pedophelia and no one did anything like i am just going to pretend he and the whole plotline doesn't exist for my mental health. second of all the misogyny in this book was awful. also the book made the word virgin look like a slur tbh. (don't get me started on the whole promise to dad think too it was creppy as hell) don't get me wrong i love corruption in romance but this was not it. the lollipop scene is straight up a nightmare and he gropes her in one scene but it doesn't matter because she likes(!) it afterwards 🤢 and this is not enemies to lovers stop calling it that pls they weren't enemies and i think there was no romance in most of their relationship it was just pure lust. i would have given this zero stars if it wasn't for the last chapters. oh also she was SEVENTEEN, and I know she was like a month away from 18 but that doesn't make it okay stop writing about graphic sexual scenes involving minors it's a very simple thing to do. if you can make the male mc 18 you can write her as 18 too so at least they are not minors. if you gave this book a high rating please go sit in a corner and rethink your choice. i am going to stop myself here because if not i can write a whole another paragraph about the things i hated.
