Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery
3.0
Charming as always, but Mrs. Lynde was correct in her pronouncement of Davy's need of physical discipline. Look, I'm not for walloping a child as a rule, but he was downright cruel to Dora throughout the book, and I'm not sympathetic. Poor Dora gets the short end of the stick, and it kind of ruined the book for me.
Another thought: how crazy is it that Anne was old enough at 16 to teach school, but Marilla also was glad to see that she hadn't started thinking yet about Gilbert yet? But also Diana was getting engaged! Truly, different times.
