The Plague by Albert Camus

3.0

I don’t like philosophy novels. They’re boring. The Plague is no exception. There’s some wonderful writing in here, but it’s just not fun to get through. Camus is a philosopher for white guys, and his musings pretty much centre solely on the experience of white men. It’s homogenous and boring, but there are some very lovely phrases in here. “They knew now that if there is one thing one can always yearn for and sometimes attain, it is human love.” Wow. Good stuff.
