Die for Me by Amy Plum

5.0

This was amazing. Maybe not the die-hard-screaming amazing. But amazing in its own way.

Amazing that the mc was weak while being strong. Amazing that in the midst of paranormal where there's hardly anything original, something is. Amazing that the setting was Paris and absolutely beautiful. Amazing that I WANT MY OWN VINCENT!

The main character, Kate, moves to Paris to live with her grandparents with her older sister Georgia after both her parents die in a car crash. Sheltering herself her family convince her to spend time outdoors which leads to her a cafe book reading session.

While the first few chapters were a slow start once the story pulled me in there was no going back. And I found myself respecting Kate's decisions to pull away from Vincent both understandably and a strong character development point for Kate. Kate, whom are the death of her parents, is too afraid to love in case that love gets ripped away from her again too.

The secondary characters were great and extremely interesting. I wish we had more time to get to know them all and I hope in the sequel we do.

There isn't much to say that I didn't like about this book. I was good. "Amazing" as I have stated (though that may be an exaggeration).

I loved it.
