Dark Flame by Alyson Noël

3.0

I had mixed feelings about this book.

For one thing, I knew about Roman's humanity long before Ever found out about it, which is one of the reasons why I liked him so much... I have a knack for seeing the good parts of an antagonist.

For another, Ever was driving me crazy for the majority of the book - but she FINALLY had some character development at the end, so that's why this book got three stars. I almost went back down to two stars, though, because of how it ended.

It was rather... anti-climatic, for lack of a better word.

I didn't much like Damen or Jude, either - Damen because he wouldn't LISTEN to Ever - she TOLD him she could only talk to him in Summerland and he WOULDN'T LISTEN. I don't like Jude because he kept getting in the way - especially at the end. Now I would gladly murder him in his sleep.

And HAVEN. God, I HATE her. She's so toxic, desperate, spoiled, vain, self-centered - need I go on? Every time her name so much as appears on the page, I feel the desperate urge to pry open my skull, rip open my brain, and throw it across the room. I settled for the book.

So... it's safe to say this book PISSED ME OFF - because of how much I got into it. I felt everything Ever was feeling... which wasn't particularly good for ME when she was obsessed with Roman, because then I was obsessed with Roman... and still am..

Two more books to go!
