Book of the Damned: A-E5L1-01-00 by V.E.S. Pullen
5.0
This was amazing! The author turns several annoying romance/RH tropes on their heads. For example, the "badass" heroine who needs to be rescued over and over by her harem or the clueless virgin teen who spends all her time obsessing over every physical interaction with her guys. None of that happening here. Aesli IS a badass and its not because she knows martial arts or is a sharpshooter or ex military. She's the girl who lived, the one who gets up each day and keeps on going even though she is living with a debilitating illness and the weight of the world is on her shoulders. And even though she is a virgin it doesn't mean she is clueless about relationships, in fact, some of the best dialogues in the book are her being honest and holding all the guys accountable. This book, just like book 1 is full of nerd humor and even though I didn't catch all the references, it was soooo funny. I loved the first three rules of DnD. More please! I am obsessed with this series.
