Model Misfit by Holly Smale
5.0
I got this book from my boyfriend for my birthday. :) Really happy with it!
This book was even better than book 1. It has more modelling mishaps, more mistaken things, and of course a mystery!
I loved Harriet, I loved her geekiness, though at times it got a little bit annoying with all the facts. At times I was like: Is there anything else she can do besides fact ranting? What is she? Google?
But at other times I was cheering for her, when her modelling didn't work out, when things did go wrong, and with her and her (ex)-boyfriend).
I really despised Poppy, and also Yuka (though that lessened at the end). But Poppy, urgh, typical I-want-everything-and-I-will-get-everything princess type. Though this is all mostly based on what happens later. At the beginning she was all nice and friendly and I really was hoping that Harriet would find a new friend.
And then we have Rin, oh Rin, how much I laughed when you tried to say something and it sounded so off. Hampshire = Hamsters, Goats=Gods and so on, I really had a wonderful time reading about Rin, and I do hope we will see her more in the other books. I really loved that she named her cat Kylie Minogue! You can see how badly she wants to learn English and live in Australia.
The modelling parts were really fun, I loved all the new challenges Harriet had to face, and how hard she did her best.
I can't wait for the next book, America! Soooo excited, since I am sure Harriet will do fine, after all while she herself doesn't know it, she is talented in modelling.
