This reminded me strongly of something I have watched when I first started reading it, I think an episode of Torchwood, the peculiar children from the past.
One thing annoyed me, the author wrote 'all of the sudden'. That's not correct! But otherwise quite good, not too childish like I thought it might be being for younger teens.
