Almost dropped it again and on the same place too, I suspect. There was lots and lots of telling instead of showing, and nothing much was happening, which was especially jarring after The Holy Road. Luckily in the second half the enemy army arrived and things started picking up again. Fingers crossed that the next books will be better.
