It had been a LONG time since reading the previous three books, so...getting "into" the story, took a bit of time. The main character, Atticus (love that name) is pompous and obnoxious, but IF you'd lived as long as he has (with THOSE powers)...you might be arrogant, too. Maybe not YOU, but I know that that would've been one of my struggles.

The story was actually a neat one. Trying to do right, with bad (or trickster) people. The results are not always in the positive, but the heart to do right, was there.

I really like his sidekick (padawan). She brings him down a notch or two...because he has to keep her safe, while he's training her.

Love the popculture references, especially SSF types. SO funny when they are used...it brings levity into some dire situations..

The ending, was sort of a good jumping off point to read more in this series, but I haven't set any more of his stories in my readathon game. Might have to adjust it...a bit, to ride the wave of this character.
