Pushing up Daisies by M.C. Beaton

2.0

The actual mystery was more interesting than some of the more recent Agatha Raisin books, but these books just keep getting more and more negative. Agatha wasn't quite as judgmental as usual in this book, but the way Beaton wrote about anybody that wasn't white or straight read like she thought she was being progressive when really she was stereotyping. There was also a weird little plot point about a false rape accusal that bothered me a lot. The only reason I keep reading these books is because I get ARC copies for free. I keep hoping they'll get better, since I enjoyed some of the earlier ones, but they only get worse.
