I Have Lost My Way, by Gayle Forman
Did not finish book.
I am sorry but I cannot deal with this one. Had to dnf. Only read first 1-2 chapter and skipped and read some "harun's"(one of the 3 mc's) povs. A random white woman( of whatever faith but not islam) writing about a Muslim. And him being Gay! I am sorry but huh please stay out of religion and qouting Quran. Or whatever. A faith is a faith. And their rules are their own rules.
Plus this is not your #ownvoices story so huh. Just don't. No matter how much research you did its not your story to tell. It isn't. And it isn't even your place to write about a thing totally not belonging to your culture and your set of faith and your right and wrong .
Also stereotyping Pakistani American or Pakistan Immigrated people happening very hard in this one.
So YEAH BIG FAT PISSED OFF NOPE!
