Before I start this review and before you read this book, I urge you to look up the trigger warnings please!! 

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. There were so many scenes that made me want to throw the book at the wall, but then I couldn’t because I needed to keep reading. The days that I was reading this book, I was always sad, even if I wasn’t even thinking about the book — it was extremely intense. 

One day, Quinn goes to surprise her fiancé at his apartment. When she arrives, she meets a boy named Graham. Graham tells Quinn that her fiancé is cheating on her with his (Graham’s) girlfriend. 

After this, Graham and Quinn build some type of connection and they spend some time together. Eventually, they part ways and meet again a few months later. 

Graham and Quinn eventually get married, but they experience fertility issues. This has a huge impact on their relationship, and really drifts them apart. Quinn has always dreamed of being a mother and Graham has always wanted to be a father, so not being able to conceive takes a toll on them both. 

But the question is, is love enough? Is love enough when there’s no happiness, intimacy, or communication anymore? Will Graham and Quinn be able to connect with one another once again or will they give up on each other? 

This book does have the cheating trope, and I am definitely not a fan of that so it was so hard for me to love one of the characters but at the same time I couldn’t hate them?? It was such an emotional whirlwind. 

At times this book made me so upset that I literally wanted to throw up. — that  was probably one of my favourite things about this book, the way it made me feel. 

I loved how the book had “then” and “now” scenes. It gives the reader an idea of what Quinn and Graham’s relationship was like in the past, compared to what it’s like now. 

If you are looking for a book that’s sad and happy and will break your heart, I would recommend this one! Colleen Hoover never disappoints with her books. However, if you’re already in a bad place emotionally, then I would save this book for a later time <3
