It's Not Like It's a Secret by Misa Sugiura
2.0
// minor spoilers i had really high expectations for this book because it sounded great. did it disappoint? kind of. i barely felt any connection to the main character and her racism towards mexicans and her stereotyping views should have been addressed and explored a lot more. it would have been nice to see sana actively try and educate and better herself. i liked the basis of the relationship between her and jamie but i would have liked to have seen more of it. it felt too rushed and i didn’t feel like there was much of romance between them. the book perpetuates stereotypes which i feel may have been intentional but it felt...uncomfortable. it was a nice read in some parts, but i wouldn’t read it again. i am glad i gave it a go though
