House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland

5.0

I would give this book 10 stars if I could!!!!

When I picked this book up I was expecting something completely different than what I got, however, I don't think I could have asked for a better book. It's been a long time since a book has left me wanting more in a good way. I was expecting a thriller or to simply unearth the mysteries of the past of the Hollow sisters when I started this book, but Krystal Sutherland gave me so much more than that. The magical realism that coats these pages and the lore that is used to piece everything together was so thought out and immaculately done that it makes you wonder if this is fact or fiction that you are reading.

I loved Iris, Viv, and Tyler as characters. They had flaws and quirks that made them seem more 3 dimensional and not just flat boring characters on the pages of a book that you will soon forget. The bond that Iris and Viv share as siblings is something that is so relatable and just adds another layer to who they are even with the underlying sense that something about them isn't fully human. I am glad that we got the explanation and the closure about the Hollow sisters and what happened to them. I don't know if Krystal Sutherland plans a follow-up to this amazing novel, but I will be wishing for one even if she doesn't because I would love to go back to this world and spend more time with these characters.
