Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

2.0

I've been putting this book off for the past year to read. The plot looked interesting, but I just couldn't bring myself to read it despite how good it looked... now I wished I wouldn't of read it.
It was a fairly short read, but it was annoying. I felt like there was too much going on, and everything wasn't settled properly. Like with her mother, it felt half-assed. Then the whole James issue was a mess. He was an interesting character, but I don't really think he was that necessary in the story. Maybe it's because of the way they "broke-up" or something... which by the way was terrible. One minute she's all "oh James I'm here for you, I love you" then he goes to the hospital, sends her a postcard telling her to forget about her and that was it...then she later sees him at the graduation ceremony, takes an awkward photo, and that's the last we see of James. The whole relationship was just blah. I wanted more.
