The Black Echo by Michael Connelly

4.0

Should be read with beer and jazz! Yeah, this one sure lived up to its reputation. For the most part anyway. Bosch is my kind of bloodhound, pigheaded and dedicated, L.A. isn't just the setting, it quickly turns into a character as well and there's lots of room for actual police work, which makes an already enthralling case even more so. Loved how it gradually unfolds. Like sand dropping steadily through the cinched middle of an hourglass, as Harry mentions somewhere. I do have one major gripe though. Eleanor, the FBI agent Harry has to hook up with. Everything about her bothered me. Perhaps it would have been better to cut the lubby dubby stuff. Would have made things a lot easier to swallow. Other than that; no complaints. See you later, Hieronymous!
