I enjoyed Roan and Reggie's story a lot. I think their reluctant attraction was obvious to everyone but themselves. The banter was great and the chemistry between them felt like it sparked a fire of a thousand degrees !
I particularly liked the struggle of Roan with masculinity and mental health, his acceptance that what his dad taught him was fucked up and not what it means to be a man but he struggled to decondition himself. The ending and growth on his part was beautifully written and it made me feel like maybe he is the most sane of the Fox brothers. In any case, he definitely is the most self-aware, which in turn, made me feel like his relationship with Reggie was a thoughtful and mature one, not only built with lust and tension.
Reggie, oh my Regina ! What a a great but stupid character ! She makes for the perfect excuse for the third act, really, going in the depth of shit like this... She really is an Aries, act first and think later 😅 I love her anyway, I loved the Mexican rep and I loved how supportive she is of Roan. She would make a great friend, I would love to be her friend, she is smart and curious and so snappy !
I did not expect this book to be a goddamn slow burn !!! And I loved it ! It was so well done, the tension between them was to the roof... This book was less spicy than book 1 and 2 (I give it a 3🌶 vs. 5 for the other two), there is a lot less "kinks" in my opinion and except for the slight degradation, it's not completely wild but once again, Summer's writing makes me want to drop my panties ! It was so damn hot, and Roan can dirty talk for sure...
As for the plot, I enjoyed it but I was left with a question on why... Not the big why but a small why you don't get the answers to and it felt like an oversight rather than on purpose. Love. good murder mystery but it is not fully air tight in my opinion.
