This was an unexpected gem! While I figured out (part of) the whodunnit, it was late enough in the book that I didn’t feel cheated, and the found family aspect of this made the whole realm just delightful. Loved the switch of character voices in different chapters and especially Vera’s notes. Look forward to reading more from this author.
