Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders by Vincent Bugliosi

Reread this year as I was coming off of a Bailey Sarian True Crime kick to cope with a book slump. This novel is such a dense recounting of one of the darkest true crime stories that I have ever heard. While it is no wonder that American society was, and still is, grotesquely fascinated by the Manson murders, this novel always makes me wonder just how people can go so far. It is crazyyyy to think that cult influences can lead people to go so far. While we all know the out come, this novel takes you deep into the details and potential timeline.
