Axle's Brand by C.M. Owens

4.0

Reread May 2021 - Still 4.5 stars although I lowered the official rating from 5 to 4 stars because the h was a little too over the top with her psycho act for me to suspend my disbelief. Still loved Axel(H) though.

4.5 Stars.

I'm usually not a huge fan of MC books, but this one is fucking amazing. It's safe and full of humor to balance out the tension.

The H is 10/10. He's tortured bc of his past but instead of using that as an excuse to hurt and lash out at others, he's loyal and extremely respectful of boundaries. Like I said, ten out of fucking ten.

(THIS NEXT PART ABOUT THE h IS KINDA SPOILERY SO SKIP IT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK YET!!!!) The h brings her fair share of excitement to the pages because... drumroll please... she comes from a mafia family?!?! This book is technically a MC + mafia book, and definitely the first one of its kind I've seen. So because of her syndicate background and training, she's not afraid of death and violence. I did think that some of her craziness was OTT but I liked that she had a backbone and she was smart af. You cannot fool this girl so don't even try.

All in all, this book grabbed all of my attention and refused to let go. And I loved it.
