I need a solid sit down to really evaluate why I loved this book so much, so note that a more in depth review is in the works.
But what it really boils down to is the characterization, the worldbuilding and plot complement one another so well, that it was bound to be a hit. Each aspect is just pure entertainment wrapped in layers of rich storytelling that I had to force myself to put it down to prolong my reading experience because I was enjoying it so much. Too much one might say and yet I could not stop myself from gorging upon it.
An instant favourite, fully on my auto-buy list of series, and Robert Jackson Bennett has officially been raised to word wizard status in my books which means we have a new favourite author!
