In the Line of Duty by Carolyn Arnold

4.0

If you enjoy police procedural shows that get you a bit emotional and kind of hint at romance on the side, this was a really good read. I enjoy watching shows like Chicago PD & NCIS, so this kind of fit right into that genre. We've got the murder of a cop as the fabric of this story, and uncovering the layers of the mystery kept me turning the pages, needing to know who did it and why. It really hits you at the beginning and the tears start flowing, so keep the tissues handy. You could definitely tell that the author knows her stuff when it comes to police work. I've not read any other books in the series, but it definitely stood on its own and I never felt lost or confused. Everything you need to know is contained in the story, even though this is book 7. I would recommend this story. It was quite captivating.
