All I Have: Part One by Ames Mills

adventurous

4.0

In true Ames Mills fashion, we have yet another tangled, knotted mess of a dark romance that will have you at the edge of your seat. This book convinced me that the author can do no wrong with poly romances. Since this book is technically a spinoff from Les' story starring her uncle, please do make sure you've read Les' duet beforehand. I promise going in blind will interrupt from the reading experience because I read Les' duet months ago and the only people I remembered were Les and her harem. So, read Riches to Riches first and get back here.

That aside, I enjoyed Evie's story a lot! She's very different from Les and that made her story and experiences much more real. Her personality was kinda mousy at first, due to her bad past so it was enlightening to see her grow into such an amazing confident woman that blooms in the care and affection of her men. Now, Evie's men? Hot AF. I don't even know where to begin. We get to explore more of Micah and Evander's relationship even deeper and I love that Micah can get over his own issues with Evie with the help of the people he loves. The MM side of the harem were just as important as Evie's individual feelings with the men and that balance was executed flawlessly. I love Mateo too because as much as he's the silly goof, he also was the one that saw how much thisĀ  harem needed each other. He pushed and pulled without forcing or manipulating anyone's feelings, and that selflessness made him so much more lovable. I can't even forget Gray and Hartley because while they didn't exactly take charge in this book, we can also tell that they do care for Evie in their own ways. I have a strong feeling that we'll be focusing more on them in the next book.

While this book is still in the Abbs Valley universe, the plot has little similarities with Riches to Riches which I enjoyed immensely. It's refreshing to have a completely different kind of enemy while still having that same Mafia trope. I also freaking love Les and her harem's cameos because let's be honest they're still one of my fav harems of all time, and now I get to add Evie's to that list.

The plot and pacing were flawlessly executed, the characters all lovable with all their strengths and flaws, and the action and smut? Phenomenal. I really liked this book and as much as I hated the ending to book 1, I also look forward to tying loose ends in the poly dynamic in the next book.
