Between the Devil and Desire by Lorraine Heath

4.0

This was such an enthralling story.

The beginning was a bit shaky for me, mainly because both main characters are pretty unlikeable. Which I can get on board with but having not met the FMC and the MMC came off pretty badly in the previous book there was a lot of work to do. And I did end up really liking them by the end it just took a bit longer than I would have liked. I think my main problem was the MMC way of putting walls back up felt very frustrating but that is part of the point I guess. The main problem I had was the unnecessary POV of the villain included in the story. The hard topics covered in this story are why it took me so long to read, Lorraine Heaths writing is so absorbing that once your into it you just keep going, but the difficult topics covered made it hard to want to pick up. The POV didn’t push the story along and only adds to the readers pain as you know something is coming. I understand suspense and foreshadowing, it just didn’t feel right in this instance.

Overall very gripping story and can’t wait to read the next one. Finally Frannie’s book!
