Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King

4.0

Okay, these are getting meta. So insanely meta.
Liked:
1. Callahan. Father Callahan's back. I love him. He's on the run from the Low Men from Hearts in Atlantis, and antics ensue.
2. The plot. The book felt a bit like a side quest in a video game. I thoroughly enjoyed the group journeying to this town and helping them take down these weird cybernetically-enhanced wolves, who are snatching their children. It did feel a little bogged down in spots, but that's meant to be expected with a Stephen King book.
3. The Concept of the Todash. The Todash Space is something I haven't mentioned in any of my reviews, probably because it hasn't really come up. It's essentially just a weird rift in the multiverse that can be used to travel. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? I'm convinced the Rabbit Hole in 11/22/63 is in the Todash Space.
4. References to 'Salem's Lot. 'Salem's Lot is still my favorite Stephen King book. Callahan discussing everything that's happened, it's very clear that he's showing signs of PTSD from the things that have happened. It even confirms that he's gay!
Disliked:
1. The ending. The ending might be the most anti-climactic ending I've ever read in a Stephen King book. It goes on for like fifteen pages, and it's just insane at how break-neck it is. And then it just ends!
2. The citizens of Call Brynn Sturgis. The Townsfolk are just too annoying for me. They're mostly unlikeable characters and are useless.
