The Wish Collector by Mia Sheridan

5.0

The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, and Jane Eyre are my 3 favorite stories so it’s no surprise that I loved this book. There are mentions of The Phantom of the Opera throughout this book, of how Jonah’s situation is similar to the Phantom’s, but Jonah also reminded me of the Beast and also a bit of Mr Rochester. I really loved seeing Jonah’s walls coming down the longer he knew Clara. This is a story of redemption, hope, patience, acceptance and understanding. But most of all it’s about loving yourself so that you are free to love other people. Because if you don’t love yourself, you wn’t believe that anyone else can.
A few things about this book:
-slow burn(first kiss happens after 50% mark)
-grumpy/sunshine
-age gap
-HEA
For fans of spice, this is not overly detailed in that regard. Only two scenes that I can think of and they were not too descriptive, but I still really enjoyed it.
