Grounded by Sarah Hualde

4.0

Thank you to Storyorigin and publishers for this audio book of Grounded by Sarah Hualde

I don't usually listen to audios as most have narrators that don't grip my attention, which then leads me to not pay attention or enjoy the story.
However Grounded is totally different, the narrator's voice is perfect for story telling and I found myself engaged.

I loved the story of Grounded, the main character Penny Nichols is as we find out "gifted". She moves from one town to another after her "gift" shows up and leaves her no other choice.
In this instance Penny works at the local coffee and gift store, whilst bumbling along with her boss Janice and Fred and having to put up with their lazy son Terry. Penny sees the Raven, this turns the novel into a series of preventing deaths and figuring out a mystery that's unfolding.

I loved the way this novel was written, it's light and fun. The twists and turns were somewhat surprising. All in all I felt like this was a nice little murder mystery type book. One that you don't have to commit too much concentration to enjoy but one that you can't put down either.

I'd definitely be looking out for more of these stories by Sarah Hualde in the future and if the narration is done by Brittany Goodwin then I would listen.
