Darker the Release picks up right where Sweet the Sin left off. Caleb and Kelly are still keeping secrets from each other. Kelly is still keeping her identity a secret while looking for the proof of who killed her father and Caleb's involvement in the murder. Caleb is keeping secrets from Kelly, things he's afraid of her ever finding out and leaving him. The more time they spend together, the more real their feelings grow and someone is bound to get hurt when the truth comes out.
I really loved this story! I am a sucker for revenge themed romances and this one totally hit the mark for me. Caleb and Kelly are both characters that are complex and I was torn about how I felt about them for most of the book. Some of the decisions they each made were questionable and at times were frustrating. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen and where this story was going to go. The sex scenes in this book were smoking hot and so good! Caleb and Kelly had a genuine connection and were very passionate together. My only complaint is I would've liked a little more for the epilogue but I really loved this story and can't wait to read what this author writes next.
