The Escape Room by Megan Goldin was entertaining, and I’m actually surprised at how it ended. While it didn’t get the coveted audible gasp, it certainly came close. I think that the setting for this was perfect. Investment bankers trapped in an elevator having to trust on each other to escape? It almost writes itself. I can definitely say that investment banking being so cut throat felt genuine, and each of the characters fit their roles perfectly. I think that some of the elements felt a little TOO planned, but overall, I found it to be really entertaining, which, when we’re talking about thrillers is a big selling point. While I don’t think this is my favorite thriller, it certainly was quick, enjoyable, and easy to read.
