The Magicians by Lev Grossman

1.0

I wanted to like the book, I really did. I've seen first three episodes of the series (by SyFy) and I though "what a nice show, let's try the book". So I found the book and started reading, wanting to be able to compare the show afterwards. But, well, it kinda breaks my heart, but I don't like it. I couldn't even finish it. I managed to read about 50 pages and then I gave up. There was something about the book, which made it unlikeable, eventhough I really don't know what it was. Surely the part where "he starred at his yellow-acid piss" didn't helped. Maybe it was the teenage world filled with idiotic annoying teenagers, compared to adult-looking actors in the series. Maybe it was the slow story-telling, which was somehow boring. Maybe there is just something in my brain which doesn't allow me to read YA stuff.
I don't know, and I'm really sorry, because I wanted to like it, but I stick with the series.
