This one has been on my list for so long, and I'm really glad I waited until I got into audiobooks to start it - the audio was wonderful and Anna-Maria Nabirye was a perfect narrator! This novel follows the lives of 12 people, but I felt like I got to know each of them just as well in their chapters as I would have reading a book about one person. This novel is a beautiful exploration of gender constructs, feminism, and sexuality that confronts conflicting beliefs between characters that correspond to sentiments we hear every day. I truly loved listening to this one! Check out the content warnings below before you pick it up - the content included in the warnings is present throughout most of the book.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Racial slurs, and Racism
Moderate: Child abuse, Emotional abuse, Homophobia, Incest, Miscarriage, Misogyny, Pedophilia, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, and Transphobia
